Let me be direct with you: I can feel you. We all can.

People who are empathic — and there are far more of us than anyone admits — can sense the energy behind what you post, what you say, and how you show up. It doesn't matter how beautiful your words are, how polished your graphics are, or how many times you rehearsed it. If the energy behind it is desperate, scattered, or inauthentic, we feel it.

I've watched incredibly gifted people in my world make the same mistake over and over: they keep changing their message, renaming their offers, pivoting their brand, bouncing from one thing to the next. The energy behind all of that movement says one thing clearly — I don't quite know what I'm doing yet.

Fake It Till You Make It" Doesn't Work — Here's Why

I want to address this one directly because it gets thrown around constantly in entrepreneurship circles.

Faking it until you make it is not the same as visualizing your future self. They are completely different things.

When you visualize, you step into the feeling of what you're creating. You ask: What would I do today if I already had this? What choices would I make? How would I show up differently? And then you make choices from that place. That's alignment. That's powerful.

Faking it is pretending you have something you don't. Pretending you're happy when you're not. Pretending you have it all together when you're falling apart inside. People will sniff that out in a heartbeat.

You don't need to have it all together. Nobody does — especially not in the early stages of building something. What you need is to be real about where you are while moving toward where you're going. That's a completely different energy, and people respond to it.

How to Clear Your Energy Before You Show Up

Here's what I do before every live, every post, every session — and I'm sharing it because it works.

I call it walking myself down.

Before I show up for anyone, I get into my body. I connect with my higher self. I sense the people who are going to see this. I hold them in my heart. I remember why I do this work, what it means to me, what I'm here to give.

And something shifts. Every time. The energy moves from wherever it was — frustrated, scattered, distracted — into genuine care and presence. That's what people feel when they're in my world. Not because I'm performing it. Because I actually arrived there first.

You can do this too. Here's the process:

1. Own what you're feeling. Don't judge it, don't push it down. Negative energy, frustration, fear — it's all normal. Just see it.

2. Breathe through it. Visualize it leaving your body. Literally imagine it releasing.

3. Return to your why. The love, the care, the reason you do this work. Let that fill the space.

4. Then show up.

It doesn't take long. But it changes everything about what you transmit.

Your Business Space Is Sacred

If you're building a business, treat the space you work in accordingly.

I don't bring the energy of my personal life into my work. If I've just had a frustrating conversation, or the world has been a lot, I deal with that energy first — then I sit down and do the work. Not the other way around.

This doesn't mean hiding. It doesn't mean pretending life is perfect. It means being intentional about what you're transmitting in the container of your business.

If people in your life are draining your energy consistently, that's the inner work calling. Set the boundaries. Hold the space. You are the CEO of your business — and that includes the energetic environment you build it in.

The Energetic Connection That Builds Real Business

Here's what I know after 40 years: the businesses that last, that grow, that genuinely change lives — they're built on authentic energetic connection. Not perfect branding. Not the right strategy. Not the best marketing funnel.

Real connection.

When people tell me "I love your energy, I love your voice, it makes me feel something" — that's not an accident. That's the result of years of showing up with every bit of myself behind what I do.

You have that in you. The only question is whether you're letting it through.

Be you. Fully, authentically, energetically you. That is the most magnetic thing you will ever do for your business.
